History
SVDG is Reconciliation & development Organization a participatory nongovernmental, non partisan and nonprofit making organization that was primarily initiated to promote community development and national rehabilitation, SVDG will execute its desired obligations in a collaborative manner by actively involving all the concerned stakeholders such target communities, Local Authority (L.A) and funding agencies in the projects/program’s implementation course. Through with the collaboration of SVDG stakeholders, it will strictly follow project cycle of management according to the international procedures.
This will be achieved by carrying out prior program assessment, designing/planning appropriately, project preparation, implementation and Monitoring & Evaluation and finally reporting of the project state of operation.
In a historical perspective, prior to the 2012 civil war, the reigning military regime concentrated more on a political build up at the expenses of social service development. This was further worsened by a decade of unrest and civil war whereby there was a inexistence of lawmaking central authority and a resultant collapse government institutions.
Due to this miserable state the few social services available like education, health, water & sanitation were destroyed to zero level. On addition to above, environment degradation & illegal natural resource exploitation became order of the day. Through this, the country’s available tree species were cut down as fuel/charcoal for export to Middle East and U.A.E.
Besides that, the only vast Somali resource like the marine resources (the fish species) were indiscriminately extracted illegal unsuitable fishing vessels that use their muscles.
After having seen the prolong and severe problems among the communities on the areas of, inadequate of basic developmental & rehabilitation services in particularly child and mother health care services, nutrition supplementation, Protection, education facilities, rehabilitation, and poor infrastructures according the organization’s main areas of intervention. Concerning to this, the organization putted an effective effort to standardize and create useful endeavors and integrated programs which are focusing and targeting the marginalized and susceptible communities in both the IDPs/returnees and host communities in entirely Mudug region.
Therefore, the main objectives of Somali Vision Development Group was effort originated from the community, intellectuals and experienced elders together in via combined ideology, which practiced, enabled, processed and accessed to accomplish the establishment of such community development organization.
Subsequently, the organization was established and strongly made stand its pillars in the year of 2016, from this case, the organization’s ambition was aimed to strengthen, enhance, provide adequate and useful projects through having an integrated strategy to enlighten and deal with the demands including poor service provisions/supplementation in a viable way.

To ensure that every Somali individual has access/opportunity to appropriate social service in accordance with the set up Millennium Development Goals (M.D.Gs), favorable political atmosphere and same time protection of environment.

To initiate grass root level community development & rehabilitation activities through mobilization, participation and enabling all the community members to fully participate in the well being of the community and the nation at large.
